I was on the phone the other day with a customer when she asked me how I was inspired to come up with such amazing party ideas. I thought it might be fun to take my customers on a journey with me when I create a new theme. So- here's what I'm working on now and how I got there...
Earlier this week a customer asked me if I had any ideas for a baby shower for her son and daughter-in-law who love to fish. She thought it would be cute to include them in some way into the theme. Thinking this could be something really cute, I kept my eyes open for anything that reminded me of fish...
When I saw this in the pantry, I knew it had to be the starting point of my new theme. Still keeping my eyes open, I was at JoAnn Fabrics when I came across these...
The fish are little buttons that might make cute napkin embellishments when tied on with some orange or blue ribbon. I just loved the turquoise color of the fish bowls so when I found this ribbon, the color scheme of the shower was solidified.
At home, I put those colors and the goldfish cracker image into this invitation...
I'm not sure I'm sticking with this wording, but as I was making the invitation, it dawned on me that the fishing line could be a terrific way to decorate for the shower. Which leads me to where I am now...
I'm envisioning...
Cylinder vases with single branches/sticks tied with fishing line which holds little orange & blue polka dot cards with menu items written on them. How about giant wine glasses or tall cylinder with turquoise gems/rocks on the bottom and one or two single goldfish swimming? Desserts in turquoise, white, and orange, possibly a cupcake tree with orange cupcakes and blue icing swirled to look like water. Maybe some gumpaste goldfish or cupcake picks? For favors... hmmm... I just can't get past the idea of a sandwich baggie tied with a little fish in it, like the kind you used to win at a carnival...
Maybe an orange glycerine soap in the shape of goldfish?
I'd love to hear your ideas to continue creating this theme! I'll be sure to post pictures as everything comes together!
How about a paper with an Advice "line" for the mother to be.
You could play a kids game of trying to catch something with a fishing pole and a magnet on one end.

Where did you find the goldfish invitations? I do not see a link. Thank you in advance.
